Finished my first marathon. I ran way too fast in the beginning and paid for it during the second half of the race. I did follow my plan mostly, it was fine the first half, but my heart rate was way too high. Probably should go more by heart rate instead of pace next time. For some reason my heart rate goes down after 2 hours, i don’t know, maybe my body just takes a really long time to warm up. My plan sorta backfired and I got nowhere close to my goal time.
To slow down, I try to sing a song. If I can’t, then I know I’m going too fast. Had this song stuck in my head for some reason.
Mostly just the lines:
I have sunk so low
I messed up
Because I kinda did, mess up. And the only lines I knew, ha.
